These artworks are a combination of abstract impressionism, expressionism, and symbolism styles that focus on emotion, movement, and deeper meaning. They are created using oil and acrylic paints on canvas, often layered to build texture and depth.

Some works are made by joining multiple canvases together, creating a more dimensional surface that brings the painting closer to the viewer. This adds a sense of space and makes the artwork feel more alive.

A unique feature in many pieces is the use of epoxy resin as a final layer. It’s poured in an organic, uneven way that gives the surface a glossy, fresh, and sometimes wet look. The resin protects the artwork, while also making the colors underneath appear brighter and more vibrant.

In several works, real objects are added to the canvas items that carry meaning or tell part of a story. These are sealed with resin, turning the painting into a mixed media piece with a conceptual edge.

This combination of materials and techniques creates artworks that are bold, emotional, and one-of-a-kind.

Elham Ghoreishi is an Iranian-Dutch visual artist, writer, and professional equestrian. Her multidisciplinary work blends painting, mixed media, and storytelling to explore themes of identity, freedom, and resilience. Central to her art are women and horses powerful symbols of strength and movement.

Born in Tehran and now based in the Netherlands, Elham draws on her rich background in Persian literature, fine arts, and equine sciences. Her creative practice reflects her cultural heritage and personal journey as a migrant. Through vibrant colors and textured layers, she bridges the gap between East and West, tradition and modernity.

Elham’s artworks have been exhibited in group shows throughout Europe and the Middle East. In 2023, her short screenplay earned the Best Short Script award at an international film festival. She is also the author of bilingual audio stories and short fiction that delve into exile, femininity, and the inner voice.

Her art transcends visual expression; it is a space for dialogue, emotion, and transformation. Through her gallery and workshops, Elham aims to connect emerging artists, elevate marginalized voices, and share stories that cross cultural boundaries.

Looking ahead, Elham plans to bring together talented but lesser-known immigrant artists under the banner of Elham Gallery. She believes that no artist should go without support, and her goal is to create a dedicated space to nurture and promote these voices.

Why ABSTRACT ?

From Memory to Movement!

Abstract art emerged as a response to a changing world one in which the invention of the camera freed painters from the task of capturing visible reality. With photography able to record the outer world, artists turned inward, exploring emotion, memory, dreams, and the unseen.

Throughout the 20th century, abstraction became a way to express what cannot be explained feelings without form, thoughts without figures, and realities that live outside the visible. Artists began to paint not what they saw, but what they felt. In this space, dreams became subjects. Symbols lost their definitions. Meaning became personal, fluid, and open to interpretation.

For many, abstraction is not simply a style it is a form of liberation. Abstract artists are not bound by rules of perspective or realism. They play freely with color, movement, texture, and space. This freedom allows for spontaneous creation and deep emotional release.

In abstract art, the invisible becomes visible. The undefined gains shape. And in every brushstroke, there is a kind of truth that cannot be spoken only felt.
